Statement of Significance
This large old Lilly Pilly contributes significantly and aesthetically to the Williamstown streetscape, visually connecting the mature trees lining the nearby streets. The proximity of the tree to the roadway and footpath allows people passing to enjoy this specimen. Local government is supportive of the protection and listing of significant trees that contribute to the visual impact of the area

History
The area of Williamstown is of historic importance. It was initially considered along with Geelong and Melbourne for the capital of the new colony at Port Phillip.. Williamstown remained an important port of the new colony, and the first land sales in the area took place in 1837
This property, in the Parish of Cut Paw Paw was purchased in 1860 and is shown in a subdivision in 1855 in the County of Bourke.
The existing dwelling is an original Victorian blue stone with slate roof.
