Statement of Significance

Location or Context: <BR>A tree which occurs in a unique location or context and so provides a contribution to the landscape.<BR><BR>Outstanding Example of Species:<BR>A tree outstanding for its large height, trunk circumference or canopy spread.<BR><BR>A fine example of the species dominating the immediate landscape. The tree's canopy has been pruned on the south side to accommodate SEC wires, but is largely intact with a well proportioned canopy spread. Aerial bundled cables should be considered for this site. Walwa Station was established circa 1839 and the present homestead survices from circa 1848 in close to its original condition. The property is classified by the National Trust and listed on the Register of the National Estate.<BR><BR>This tree is located in the front paddock on the left hand side of the drive entering from Murray Valley Highway.
