Statement of Significance

Located on the south west side of the formal garden of this historic homestead, now a reserved forest park. In 1908, Doongalla was purchased by Miss Helen Simson who planted most of the camellias, kalmias, rhododenrons and lily garden. This multi-trunked specimen is a large and impressive tree, one of a number of camellia cultivars in the garden.
