Statement of Significance

Commemorating an historical event
This tree, planted beside The Sisters Hall, is one of the four original 'Lone Pines'trees raised from the 'Lone Pine' in Gallipoli. The trees were raised by Eric Watson of Warrnambool and a member of the 24th Battalion. The others are at Warrnambool Botanic Gardens, The Shrine Melbourne, and Wattle Park Camberwell. This tree is the poorest of the group and has several trunk wounds and low vigour.

Tree removed on 11th July 2016 following a really wet winter and a fierce storm.
