Statement of Significance

These are two fine examples of a species rare in cultivation in Victoria. This native of Central America has purple flowers in large clusters from spring to autumn but can cause contact dermatitis Other known examples occur in Koroit Botanic Gardens (x1), Geelong Botanic Gardens (x1), Royal Botanic Gardens (x1). One of these trees is located near the cottage and one near the boat shed.
