Statement of Significance
The significance of Port Fairy, with its large number of historic buildings, is greatly enhanced by the outstanding rows of Norfolk Island Pines (Araucaria heterophylla) which dominate the skyline and have become a symbol of the township. These trees are of State significance and are in excellent condition although their future management will be required to maintain them in a safe and healthy condition.
