Statement of Significance
This magnificent avenue of elms lining Royal Parade was planted just after 1900 by special tree planting and mainternance gangs. The avenue also contains 9 Ulmus x hollandica which occur near the railway overpass (W.) and along Princess Park opposite Walker Street. A number of Ulmus procera have been reduced in size and several trees show signs of stress.
