Statement of Significance
This huge tree is on a small side track from Ellery Camp, clearly signposted. It is estimated to be at least 300 years old and possibly the largest of its species in Victoria.
Mountain Grey Gum is a straight smooth-barked forest tree and often seen around 20 to 40 metres tall, but in moist protected gullies it can reach greater heights. The species tends to grow in wet sclerophyll forest, at mid-altitude.
