Statement of Significance

A large, wide-spreading example of the species making a dominant impact on the landscape and occupying a large portion of the southern garden. The tree has outstanding branch structure and, although not an uncommon species, is amongst thelargest in Victoria. The largest occurs in the Ballarat Botanic Gardens which has a spread of 32m. Another example occurs along the drive (north side) near the entrance. The tree is located on the south boundary near the disused tennis court.
