Statement of Significance

A very large spreading tree of this attractive species - considered to be the most magnificent of all the Magnolias. It produces large pink flowers 25 cm across and the tree may take up to 20 or more years to flower. This tree is the largest example known in Victoria and has grown into an attractive form, although is it partially overshadowed by nearby trees. Other specimens occur at Como Nursery, Pirianda and the Royal Botanic Gardens.<BR>It is located half-way along drive on the south side.
