Statement of Significance
An outstanding tree which has attained a remarkable height. The tree has a very straight trunk and a well-balanced crown. It is among the many fine specimens of trees notable for their height growing in the garden at 'Alton' This planting presumably dates from the late 1870s. <BR>The tree is located in the South-West section of the garden near the Weeping Beech
