Statement of Significance

A tree which exhibits a curious growth form or physical feature such as abnormal outgrowths natural fusion of branches, severe lightning damage or unusually pruned forms.<BR><BR>An outstanding example of the Hoop Pine in excellent condition. The tree has a lean to the east due to prevailing westerly winds. This is the only known example of this species in the Warrnambool/Port Fairy/Portland area. Hoop Pine occurs alond the eastern coast in isolated pockets from northern NSW to Cape York<BR><BR>2004: A lot of wind damage 2013: The tree is in poor condition. Most of the branches have either been denuded by wind or eaten by cockatoos.Visited in Jan 2013 to include GPS coordinates.
