Statement of Significance

Located in the paddock, to the north-east of the orchard, this Quercus ilex at Glenormiston is considered significant due to its large physical dimensions that compare favourably withother trees of this species already on the register. The tree is an outstanding example of this species because of its current excellent health, sound structural condition and good form. The location and arbocultural attributes of the tree indicate thatit has a long life ahead of it still, despite its estimated age (130-150 years old).<BR>The tree makes a significant impact upon the surrounding landscape which is of a historical nature and provides the immediate area with a sense of scale
