A 9-hole golf course ws designed and the clubhouse opened in 1929. A popular weekend attraction, the club continued in private hands until 1987 when it was purchased by Ausgolf Pty Ltd. The Bottomley family still retains interest in the remaining sections of the old Nobelius property. The tree is believed to have been planted by the Bailleau-Myer family in the 1920s.
