Statement of Significance

Fitzroy Gardens was originally proclaimed in 1848 and was progressively altered in the 1880s-90s. Historically it has been in continuous use as a public garden and is one of Melbournes major city parks.
This tree is a mature example of the species with relatively large physical dimensions. Although this is a species commonly found in Victoria, they do not usually grow to this size so it is of aesthetic value to the Fitzroy Gardens.

The tree is located in the Gardens adjacent to Wellington Parade near Jolimont Road
