Statement of Significance
Horticultural Value:
A tree of horticultural or genetic value and could be an important source of propagating stock, including specimens that are particularly resistant to disease or exposure.

Location or Context:
A tree which occurs in a unique location or context and so provides a contribution to the landscape.

A large and dominant tree growing in the garden's reserve. The first planting in the reserve occurred in the 1878-79. Its significance is due to the presence of an outstanding example of Cedrusatlantica f. fastigiata growing nearby. The different growth habits of both trees is clearly recognisable. The tree in question would benefit from tree surgery to remove deadwood.
