Statement of Significance

This Yellow Box (Eucalyptus melliodora), located on the south side of Through Road Park, is a notable landmark in Camberwell. The tree contributes a major aesthetic quality to the immediate streetscape of Through Road and the surrounding environment. This specimen is of exceptional height which makes it the largest on the Register for the Melbourne Metropolitan area. Considering the species is an excellent source of firewood it is fortunate that this superb specimen has survived in suburbia.
