Statement of Significance

This specimen tree, located next to the clubhouse, is a remnant of former Forests Commission plantation located on the site and since cleared. It is now a striking feature in the landscape, standing out in open space and visible from quite a distance. Found in the coastal areas, of California, this species includes the tallest trees living now on Earth, reaching up to 115.5 metres and can live as long as 1200-1800 years.
