Horticultural value<BR>Contribution to the landscape of historic garden<BR>Rare or localised<BR><BR>These four <EM>Pinus coulteri </EM>are part of the major planting in the Park that dates from 1875. The outstanding characteristic of this species is the large, spiny cones which are 20-40cm long, and can weigh 2-5kg when fresh.Big Cone Pine is a native of the coastal mountains of southern California and northern Baja California (Mexico).
