Statement of Significance

Contribution to the landscape<BR>Outstanding size<BR><BR>This Flowering Gum (<EM>Corymbia ficifolia</EM>) is a dominant feature of the streetscape and although part of the canopy on the north-west side has been removed to accommodate powerlines, the tree still maintains a reasonably full crown. <EM>Corymbia ficifolia </EM>is native to a<EM> </EM>very restricted, subcoastal distribution south-east of Perth and is one of the most widely cultivated of all eucalypts both in Australia and overseas .<BR>C<I>orymbia ficifolia</I> is one of around 80 eucalypts which were transferred in 1995 from the genus <I>Eucalyptus</I> to the newly created genus <I>Corymbia</I>. The species was formerly known as <I>Eucalyptus ficifolia<
