Statement of Significance
The almond tree is a significant element within the Richmond Gaol.
Notes
Associated with the tree is the legend that it was planted outside the walls of the oringal Gaol by an Aboriginal boy brought to the Gaol to recover from his injuries. The 2.4 metre measurement of the girth of the trunk made when the tree was first registered in 1995 match those of a now dead trunk.
