Statement of Significance
Part of an ambitious project to beautify the grounds of Christ Church in 1870 by planting atleast one of each type of tree mentioned in the Bible. Many of these plants were supplied from the gardens of the Royal Society of Tasmania (later to become the Royal Tasmanian Botanic Gardens).
