Statement of Significance
The Bushy Park Memorial Avenue developed in honour of those from the disrict that had served in World War 1 is of state significance becase of scale, relative intactness and use of Horse Chesnut trees rather than more widely used conifers.
Notes
The Memorial Avenue is in two parts along the Gordon Rive Road either side of the Styx River Bridge. The 24 trees north of the bridge are on average 16 metres tall. The 21 trees to the south of the bridge are on average about half this height having been pruned to maintain clearance from overhead electricity supply cables
