Statement of Significance
The Mayor of Manly (N.S.W.) drew attention to the beauty of these trees several years ago, when addressing a tourism meeting as a guest speaker. He stated that such trees should be preserved. His utterance appeared in the local Port Lincoln Times paper. A local landmark of the Pt Lincoln foreshore. Asssociated with the early pioneer Henry Holroyd, a Special Magistrate and Inspector of Mounted Police on Eyre Peninsula in The 1860's and Pt Lincoln's first Road Board Chairman in 1870.
