Statement of Significance
Sir Samuel Davenport was responsible for planting in Collier Park this local landmark of community significance. The park, which now contains an oval and tennis courts, was left in trust for the citizens of Palmer through Sir Samuel and his friend Richard Collier who were associated with the Australian and the South Australian Mining Companies.
