Statement of Significance

This natural hybrid from South Australian blue gum and Grey box is of scientific interest, hybrid status has been supported by variation in leaf morphology of seedlings raised from this tree. Only a few other other suspected hybrids are known between these two spp, despite frequent contact between woodland associations. Dr Peter Lang has submitted a paper on this tree to the Royal Society of South Australia.
