Statement of Significance

These specimens are dry grown for over 100 years and have adapted to the hot, dry and wind swept conditions in the plantation they were planted. Their adaptation to these conditions gives them genetic potential which may be useful for propagation purposes. Progeny from such acclimatized parent stock has a higher resistance to such adverse growing conditions. From these perspectives and their contribution to the aesthetics of a notable South Australian rural property and garden makes them significant for the State of South Australia.
