Statement of Significance
This male specimen of Casuarina cunninghamiana subsp. cunninghamiana or River She-oak makes a significant aesthetic contribution to the 25 acre (10 hectare) plantation of selected Australian trees located south of the main garden of Anlaby. It is linked to a prominent late-nineteenth-twentieth century Anlaby couple and their development of the historic Anlaby garden. Its impressive size and stature dominates this area south of the main garden. Growing west of the north-western end of the South Dam (or Plantation Dam) it was selected and planted specifically for this site.
