Statement of Significance
These six specimens of Acacia pendula or Weeping Myall make a significant aesthetic contribution to the stately landscape of Anlaby. They are linked to a prominent late-nineteenth century
Anlaby identity and his historic 1907-1908 Adelaide to Port Darwin over-land crossing by motor car. Their tall weeping silhouettes are distinctive features along the main residence-end of The Avenue. They are noteworthy examples of the species which have been dry grown for over one hundred years. Specimens of Weeping Myall of this age and size are rare in cultivation in South Australia.
