Statement of Significance
An outstanding example of the species in both size and appearance . The tree is a landmark and makes a contribution to the landscape of the historic precinct of Torrens Square and is seen by thousands of people .
History
Torrens Square forms part of the 1839 Colonel Light plan for the development of Glenelg .The Square is dominated by St Peters Church which is on the State Heritage List and also Listed by the National Trust of SA .
Location
The tree is situated in an almost rectangular sector at the far north eastern corner of the square
