Statement of Significance
This is one of the finest specimens of this species in South Australia. It stands as a testament to Samuel Dixon, Chairman of the Planting Committee and a foundation member of the Board of Commissioners of the National Park, Belair. He travelled to the Brisbane Garden in about 1904 especially to collect through J.F. Bailey the Director there, the seeds of many shade trees to plant in the Park and elsewhere in South Australia.
