Statement of Significance

Grown from an acorn collected from the Royal Park at Windsor,UK and distributed to commemorate the coronation of King George V1n 1937.This is the largest of the local Coronation Oaks distributed through the Royal Automobile Association to various schools in South Australia. Mr Doug Bishop propogated a small number of them for his student project at Urrbrae Agricultural High School and planted one at his home; it has grown into this splendid tree, an outstanding specimen for its age.
