Statement of Significance
I live across the road from these two trees and have come to appreciate their form and structure each evening as we relax and enjoy the sunset.
I have been a long term resident of the area and these trees have always been a part of the local landscape. They were planted by the Cane Family who are one of the first pioneering families in the district.
It came to my notice that they were to be removed to seal the teachers' carpark, Enquiries through the school principal suggested the trees have not yet been earmarked for removal.
However, as teachers and principals come and go I felt the need to take steps to protect these trees from destruction - hence this application to help save them from future potential destruction.
I spoke with a local couple who are members of the local National Trust Museum they took my concerns to the next museum meeting and the whole committee were unanimous that the trees should stay or at least there be a town meeting.
So there you have it just trying to do my bit, thanks for listening.
