Statement of Significance
Weston Park exhibits a richness of historic plants significant as individual specimens and as examples of horticultural experiments. The site contains Eucalyptus michaeliana, a rare species.
Weston Park has considerable aesthetic appeal with a variety of vistas, colour and form of vegetation and spatial characteristics.
History
Weston Park is a mature cultural landscape from the earliest period of Canberra on a peninsula formed with the damming of Lake Burley Griffin. The basic framework of planting established by Weston and Pryor remains, with approximately one third of the area intensely developed for recreational use.
