Statement of Significance
AnAvenue of Honour commemoratingWorld War I and 800m long. It is not intact due to the inclusion of 7 Platanus x acerifolia on the south side and 1 Populus alba on the north side. The avenue flanges out on the north-west side and powerlines run through the northern row. Despite this the avenue makes a significant landscape contribution as a memorial gateway to the town.<BR>9 new Ulmus x hollandica were planted in 2003
