Statement of Significance
Located on the Eastern lawn this is an outstanding example of an unusual conifer from China. The species was first sighted in 1941 and described and distributed to botanic institutions in 1948 by the Arnold Arboretum. This tree is amongst the earliest plantings in Victoria and has grown into a very attractive conical form. Other notable examples occur at Kallista and Montrose.
